John A. Boswell, 66, passed away on Nov. 11th, 2010. He was born in Bonifay, FL; He worked in telecommunications, retiring from G.T.E. as a telecommunications supervisor, he also owned the Auburndale Speedway from 1979-1991. John served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam was a member of the American Legion and the I.B.E.W. He enjoyed classic cars and classical guitar. John loved animals and was always bringing home rescued kittens. He is survived by his wife Clarice; mother, Thelma Jacobs, sons Tony (Pam) of Auburndale, Johnny of Avon Park and Shane (David) of Chapel Hill, NC; a daughter, Lindsay Boswell of Orlando, brother Steve Boswell, sisters, Joann Dameron, Sylvia Slay, Rebecca Boswell and Stephanie Taylor, five grandchildren, three dogs and six cats. There will be a visitation, Tuesday, 11/16, from 6-8 PM at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Auburndale. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 11/17 at 10:00 AM, at New Life Assembly of God, 1951 Rifle Range Rd. S., Winter Haven. Burial will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
