Eunice McCall, age 91, a resident of Winter Haven, Florida, passed away on June 8, 2022, at Spring Lake Rehabilitation Center. Eunice was born on May 5, 1931, in Cottondale, Florida to Melton Braxton and Clara Toole Braxton. She moved to Winter Haven as a very young woman but returned to live in Cottondale several times before returning to Winter Haven permanently in 2005. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hollan McCall, her parents Melton and Clara Braxton, all but two of her ten siblings, and her two step-sons, Lamar McCall and Rocky McCall. She is survived by her daughter Dianne Forgey (Lee) of Polk City, daughter Denise Shirley (Tracy) of Winter Haven, her grandchildren, Lindsey Powers of Winter Haven and Mark Forgey of Lakeland, her great-grandchildren, Marc Forgey of Lakeland and Addasyn and Jentsen Clark of Winter Haven, her great-great grandchildren, Mason and Marleyann Forgey of Lakeland, her sister Alice Merchant and brother Joe Braxton of Cottondale, along with her step-grandchildren.
Eunice was known for her sewing and her southern cooking. Before retiring many years ago, she worked in interior designing. She was Pentecostal by faith and taught Sunday School to almost every age group throughout her lifetime.
Funeral services will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home & Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens in Auburndale, Florida, on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Visitation at 10:00 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m., and interment immediately following.
