Don Willis Powell

Don Willis Powell, age 84, of Lakeland, Florida passed away on Tuesday October 16, 2018. Don was born May 22, 1934 in Kewadin, Michigan. Later on in life Don moved from Elk Rapids, MI. where he resided for 38 years to Lakeland, FL.

Don is survived by his wife, Joyce I Powell, of Lakeland, Florida. They were married and cherished each other for 33 years. He is also survived by 3 daughter: Shawn Caulder; of Michigan, Dawn (John) Fant of Michigan, and Doris Dee Morrison also from Michigan. He is also survived by Step-daughters Therese (Jay) Wilson; Of Arizona, Deborah (Craig) Olmschank of Illinois, Jennifer Ruel of Florida and step-son Steve (Susan) Ruel of Florida. He has 3 beautiful grandchildren, Ray, Eryn and Lisa. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Danielle, Cole, Eryn, and Olivia

Don was preceded in death by his parents Charlotte Viola Buskori Powell and Bernard Powell of Michigan. Brothers, Monroe Powell, Fred Powell; Arizona, and Grandson William "Billy" Glynn; Michigan.

Don Powel was in the United States Navy and afterwards he worked at Super Tool as a machinist in Michigan and later on at Mid-State Machinery in Lakeland, Florida. He loved to travel and meet new people and was a NASCAR fan.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved and cherished his family and will be terribly missed.
