Betty Lee Griner

Betty was the matriarch of her family and life of the party. She loved her family fiercely and enjoyed singing, dancing, running the roads, loved her sweets and enjoyed watching ABC News - channel 11.

Betty was preceded in death by her father Monroe Durden, mother Mary Fowler and spouse Tally Griner. she is survived by her sister Pat York, daughter Tammy Wheelis (Jerry) of Lakeland, sons Jeff McCarta (Sandra) of Auburndale, Danny Joe McCarta of Auburndale, Mark McCarta (Mary) of Winter Haven, Kelvin McCarta (Linda) of Auburndale and Steve Hesters (Kim) of Auburndale along with her grandchildren Diana McCarta of Savannah, GA, Lindy Donnelly (Stephen) of Auburndale, Jason McCarta (Michelle) of Auburndale, Sharee Stutz (Seamus) of Auburndale, Joshua McCarta of Winter Haven, Tonua McCarta of Lakeland, Jeni McCarta of Lakeland, Tasha D'Agostino of Auburndale, Jennifer Johnson (Eric) of Auburndale, Jerry Lee Wheelis of Missouri, Jessica Davila (Jesus) of Mulberry, Brittany Wheelis of Lakeland, Tyler Wheelis of Lakeland and Taylor Roan (Justin) of Auburndale. Betty also leaves behind her 34 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren along with a multitude of extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

A visitation for Betty will be held Friday, September 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven followed by a graveside service at Auburndale Memorial Park.
