Arthur grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania and was born on March 25, 1924. At the age of 19, Arthur enlisted in the US Army. He valued his service highly and attained the rank of Private 1st class as a radio operator in the 17th Airborne Division, nicknamed the "Golden Talons". As part of his service, Arthur served in World War II taking him to England, passing through France, and ending up in Belgium, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was also awarded the Purple Heart.
Arthur was predeceased by his parents, brothers, sister, his wife Mary Miller, son Jerry Miller, and daughter Carol Miller O'Melia. He is survived by his daughters Janet Lundine, Cynthia Sherman, and Marrian Predmore (William Predmore), son Mark Loveless (Jonnie Loveless), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, 2nd great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A service honoring the life of Arthur M. Miller will be held on Tuesday, June 25th at 11:00 AM at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens. The family will begin receiving friends at 10:00 AM. Arthur will be laid to rest with military honors at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Arthur's memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
