Born February 20, 1952 in Silver City, New Mexico and entered into eternal rest on January 2, 2012 in Federal Way, Washington. She married Gilbert Martinez on October 5, 1968. Peggy was very active in church programs for 32 years and most recently served as a mini church pastor for Northwest Church in Federal Way. She loved attending Mariners games, scrapbooking , and camping in their RV by the ocean. Peggy was famous for her cake baking, opening up her home for people around the holidays, and spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Gilbert; sons Gilbert Martinez Jr. and Matthew Martinez; daughters Yvonne Rios and Julie Martinez; and her 8 grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Laura Flores; sisters Kathy Hunden and Shirley Prieto; brothers Anastacio Gomez and Michael Flores. A visitation will be held, Monday, January 9th 1:00PM to 5:00 PM at Price-Helton Funeral Home, 702 Auburn Way N. Auburn, WA 98002. A second visitation will be offered on Tuesday, January 10th at 9:30 AM at Northwest Church, 34800 21st Ave SW in Federal Way, WA with a Funeral Service to follow at 10:30 AM. Committal Service will follow afterwards at 1:15 PM at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA. A reception will follow at Northwest Church after the committal service.
