To the kingdom of the Father,
Where there's neither want nor lack,
To her place in Heaven, Mother's gone...
She won't be back.
Our Mother was not always old and feeble,
Nor frail in mind;
We see her in our memory;
Youthful, faithful, true and kind.
But the years have plowed their furrow;
Left their mark on Mother dear,
Brought heartaches, pain and sorrow,
Took her laughter, left a tear.
Mother's gone, yes she has left us,
With a greater heritage,
In the Kingdom of the Father-
Greatest wealth of any age.
Mother knew our faults and weakness,
Loved us just the same you know;
Praying God that we would follow,
In His way down here below.
Follow till our life has ended,
And it comes our time leave;
Follow till we meet each other,
In that land beyond the grave.
