Louise “Roxie” Albright, age 80, passed away November 17, 2015, at her home in Auburn, Washington. Her son Allyn and grandson Bradley, were her caregivers in recent years when she became ill with cancer.
Louise was born July 6, 1935 to Rachel (Lee) and George Romanoff in Deer Park, Washington. Louise grew up in a family of one brother, Len, and two sisters, Jenny and Martha. They moved to Algona, Washington, where Rachel and George made their family farm and raised their children. Louise, Jenny (Wright) and Martha (Long) settled their young families on the same street as their parents where they made lifelong memories with their “gang” of 13 children and many neighborhood friends, before later moving to Auburn, Washington.
Louise is survived by her sister, Martha Long; children Cindy Ludwig, Deborah Ludwig and Allyn Drebaum; grandchildren Brandon Ludwig, Briana Drebaum and Bradley Drebaum; nieces Tyla Long, Pam Romanoff and Joyce (Romanoff); nephews John Wright, Larry Romanoff, Mike Romanoff, and Ron Romanoff; and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Louise’s eldest son, Bradley Ludwig, passed away in 1984.
Louise enjoyed a long career in management at Sear’s corporate offices in Redmond and Tacoma and later as a top sales associate in home furnishings before retiring from Sear’s. Louise continued her career as a sales associate at Bassett Furniture in Tacoma and was known as “Roxie” by her customers and co-workers. She retired from Bassett at age 70.
Louise loved to fish on the Green River, as well as charter fishing at Westport, Washington, where she often caught the derby-winning salmon. She also spent many happy times camping, boating and skiing with her husband, Larry Albright, and family and friends at Banks Lake and Steamboat Rock State Park in Eastern Washington.
“Roxie” is greatly missed by her family and friends.
