Ian, my beautiful son, it's been 10 years,  1 month and 14 days since God called you home.  In the last decade, I haven't moved on, just forward. I miss you, baby.  I smile more now when I think of you, which is several times a day.  But today for some reason the tears are flowing. (Uncontrollably at the moment). Grief is such a powerful thing. I still hear your voice though.  God has blessed me with that. I'll never forget your voice, your laugh, your huge loving heart or your smile. I love you to the moon and back. It is still, so hard to grasp that you're gone. As far as I knew, I grew up with 3 brothers & 2 sisters.  The love of baseball grew within me because of you and Michael.  The half tom boy I was growing up was because I had 3 older brothers I was looking up too and I wanted to be just like them.  Thankfully I grew out of the tom boy stage! I know I'll be getting little visits from you soon, as I do each March, December as you're expecting a happy birthday from me, and of course my birthday, Halloween, as you boys were always mad it was 'my day'.
I have lived in the Auburn house now going on two years, it is bitter sweet let me tell ya.  Reminiscing on those days we played football in the backyard, or monkey in the middle until I cried to my mom, I love those days thinking of the childhood memories. However, living in our house has reminded me of you everyday, some I can walk away with a smile, and other days I fall to tears. Although, having those memories of you in my life have touched my heart and will never be forgotten.  
I never know what words to say or how to express my feelings.  The whole month of March seems like everything comes crashing down on me. Not a day goes by that I don't think of  you and if I could just ask one thing of you... to watch over Michael. He needs you, I need you, we all love and miss you Ian, please don't ever forget that.

Ian, I miss you more and more everyday.. I love you so much.  It has been 196 days and I still have a hard time with the fact that you're gone. I shed tears in memory of you at least once a day. Ian, I think about you everyday and just about every moment within those days since you were called home.  It has been sixteen weeks since we lost you, and the pain has yet to decrease in my heart, in my soul and in my being.. I miss you so much. The hole in my heart remains open.  It will for my life. i remember going to school with him, grew up im auburn my whole life... lost both my older brothers within two years. God is taking care of all if them, and Ian is in good hands. take comfort in that.

Ian your smile still brighten up my days and you were my closest friend through elementary and I thought of you more as a brother then as a friend and even though we weren't as close as I would have liked I will always keep you in my mind. My thoughts and prayer go to you and your family.

Ian, I sit here with tears in my eyes missing you then i think of some of the great times i had with you and i get a smile and i am so happy i was able to live with you so many years. We had so many good times Ian I will keep those thought forever kid. Rest in peace dear Ian. This isn't good-bye, this is so long for now. A dark shadow has fallen on your family and many friends who love you so. It is the love that binds us together and to find strength in what remains. Aunt Nellie loves you and I will miss you..

I will always cherish the last memory I have of you. It was at my wedding, I was so glad that you were able to be there. We were dancing, and you told me that you were able to get the time off because you said it was your sister's wedding. I laughed and said that I practically was, and I meant it Ian! Looking back at all the memories we share together, I've realize how lucky I am to have you as my double cousin, my “brother”. I love you always and forever!

Ian we will always be proud of all the things you have accomplished and shared with all the people who knew and loved you!!! And we will never forget that beautiful smile and all the love in your heart. Thank You so much for sharing that with us. We Love you so much!!!

Our beloved grandson, I held you close to my heart minutes after you were born and you will remain there until we meet again.  Until then, I know every angel is smiling because of your infectious smile!  I will see you in my every thought, the stars at night and the eagles that I know now send me signs that you are at peace.  We love you so much, Ian, and will miss you every day of our lives.

Ian as you know I'm having a hell of a time finding the right words to say. I start writing back space, start again back space again..
 I could get all mushy and tell you how much I love you and will miss you..but you know that or how lucky and blessed we are to have had you in our family, thru good times and the bad, but you already know I feel that way too. So I have decided to simply say, I know your purpose on this earth was fulfilled, that is why God called you back home, but what ever that purpose was, I pray it is earned, never taken for granted or simply thrown away. 
Thank you Ian for being a loving wonderful Nephew, calling me your second Mamma, that was an honor my love. Walk in the fields of heaven with our other loved ones and help them watch over all of us.

Ian, I love you so much. The last time I saw you, you hugged me and kissed me on the cheek and told me you loved me. That is the last memory I have with you and I will cherish it forever. I know I'll see you in heaven. I'm so honored that we had the memories we did, and I'll never forget you!

My dearest son,  you left us way too soon.  I will forever miss you.  I will grieve you till we meet again.  You were loved by so many people in your short life.  I am honored that God chose me in this life on earth to give birth to you and for 24 years to be called "momma" by you. There is so much I have to say.  So many hugs left to give you and so many "I love you(s)" left to tell you.  However, I have comfort in knowing that you've known all along how much I love you and you will forever know that.  I know that you will watch over us until we all can be together again.  My heart is shattered, Ian, but because of the lives of those that you affected, and the testimony of those who have shared, my heart heals a little everyday.  I'm not sure you knew that everyone thought of you as their "best friend", you were one-of-a-kind.
