New Auburn – Venise Morin, 94, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Bolster Heights Health Care Facility. She was born in Brunswick on September 15, 1924, the daughter of the late Wilfred and Alexina Vachon. On November 24, 1959, she married Charles R. Morin (Joe) in Lewiston and they were married 59 years. During that time, Venise worked most of her life in the shoe industry and upon retirement worked at The Den at Bates College which she enjoyed immensely being the social person that she was. She cherished the many years that she and her husband wintered in Florida. She was very active in the Portland based Elvis Presley fan club, traveling to Graceland and Hawaii and participating in multiple fund raisers in memory of Elvis. She always enjoyed dining out as well as spending time with her many friends. She was most passionate about sharing in her grandchildren’s lives and hearing of their accomplishments. We will miss her infectious legendary laugh never to be forgotten by people who knew her.
Venise is survived by a son, Charles R. Morin (Rusty) and wife Lynda of Florida and a daughter, Suzanne Renaud and husband Normand. She leaves behind five grandchildren, Gabrielle Hungate and husband Ryan of Arizona; Ashley Nadeau and husband Paul of Utah; Emily Bouchard and husband Eban of Colorado; Renaud Nadeau of Florida and Colby Morin of Florida and one brother, Donald Vachon and wife Betty of Florida. She also leaves behind many loving sisters-in law and brother-in-law from the Morin family whom she loved dearly. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Russell and Bertrand Vachon as well as grandson, Parrish Renaud.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and nurses and doctor at Bolster Heights and Androscoggin Hospice for the compassionate care and devotion extended to Venise during her last days. Bless them all.
