Born August 5, 1976, Scott is the son of Linda Gelinas. He was educated in the Lewiston area school system, graduating from Lewiston High School in 1995 where he was part of the Army ROTC program.
At a young age, Scott was enrolled in karate with former Lewiston Mayor John Jenkins who, through his mentorship, ignited his passion to positively influence others. For the past 22 years, Scott was employed at Tire Warehouse as Store Manager, where he served as a role model and mentor to many.
Scott married the love of his life, Sally Applegarth Gelinas, on October 21, 2006. For the entirety of Scott’s life, his efforts were focused in support of his family. Scott was a creative soul and hardworking man with a quiet presence. His heart was warm and loving to all and he carried the unwavering patience of a saint. Scott passionately supported his daughter Skylar Rose in her many pursuits, proudly serving as both a cheer and softball dad. His interests included playing pool, attending concerts, watching the Red Sox and Women’s College World Series from his favorite chair, hosting Sunday night dinners for his immediate family and large family gatherings on the holidays. Scott recently received his motorcycle license, reigniting his passion for motorcycles having taken many rides this summer with Ben and John. He enjoyed hot tub time at the end of the day with his beloved wife. He had a deep fondness for animals, in particular the family dogs: Bella, Sophie, and Nova.
Scott will be deeply missed by all he has left behind. Scott is survived by his loving wife, Sally; his four children, Skylar Rose, Ben, Kate, and Alex; his mother Linda; his sister and brother-in-law Koreen and Tim Plourde; his brother and sister-in-law Craig and Kristy Gelinas; his sister Kayla Gelinas and her partner Spencer Allen; his granddaughters, Harlie Marie and Katherine Jo; his godson Jaxson; his godparents Susan and Michael Fortier; his many nieces and nephews; his Tire Warehouse family; his pool league and many more friends and family.
Scott is predeceased by his grandparents Monette and Henry Jalbert; aunt and uncle, Diane and Bert Robitaille; in-laws Richard and Donna Applegarth; and his beloved dog, Tyson.
A visitation will be held FORTIN/Auburn from 2-4PM and 6-8PM on Sunday, November 20th, following on Monday, November 21st at 11AM will be a mass at Holy Cross, with committal at Gracelawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the Gelinas family to help support them through this unexpected and difficult time by making checks payable to Sally Gelinas.
