Robert “Bobby” Michael Paul Roy. September 16, 1979- April 28th, 2013. Bobby Roy was unexpectedly taken from us early Sunday morning in Pace Florida where he was stationed. He was a Chief Petty Officer and proud to serve his country for almost 16 years in the United States Navy. Bobby was a graduate of Lisbon High School, class of 1997. Bobby pledged to serve God and his country from an early age. He grew up participating in the Sea Cadets program on the NAS in Brunswick Maine. After graduating from high school, he officially joined the Navy and was stationed to the newest aircraft carrier at the time, CVN 75 Harry S. Truman. During his tenure on the Truman he was temporarily placed on CVN-71 Theodore Roosevelt to assist in the Kosovo conflict. During his career in the Navy he has been stationed at Brunswick Naval Air Base, CVN 69 Dwight D. Eisenhower, CVN 77 George H.W. Bush, CVN-70 Carl Vinson, and most recently NAS Whiting Field outside of Pensacola FL. It was his time served in Brunswick Maine where he met and fell in love with his wife Jessica Heino Roy. They were married in 2004 and have two amazing boys, Christian Michael Keith, and Brady Joseph Jean. The boys were Bobby’s whole life and he was excited to get a shore duty so he knew he could be there for his children. He loved coaching their baseball teams and teaching them numerous sports and life lessons. Bobby was an avid dart player. He won numerous tournaments and accolades as an extremely impressive dart thrower. Bobby could sit down at any drum kit, with any band and play. He was an amazing drummer. A sixteen piece drum kit was no match for him. His dream was to play alongside his favorite drummer Carter Beauford of the Dave Matthews Band. He also loved to play softball and always found a team to play on at every command. Family was everything to Bobby. He talked about them to everyone he would meet, from his love of his parents, to his pride in his brother and sister. No matter how you knew Bobby he always left an everlasting impression on your soul. Bobby leaves behind a very large family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, that he loved and cherished and held dear to his heart, his wife and two children, his parents Jane and Don Rivard of Lisbon Maine, a brother Ricky Rivard of San Diego California, a sister Ashley Rivard and her partner Andrew Faucher of Lewiston, a grandmother Joan Sweeney and Godparents Michael and Priscille Parrot of Lewiston.
