Robert W Knight

He was born in Plainfield, Connecticut on November 26. 1934, the son of LeRoy and Lillian (Gauthier) Knight.

On July 12, 1969, he was married to Anne Cutler, who pre-deceased him on August 24, 2013.

He was employed for all but one year of his teaching career in the Enfield, Connecticut public school system.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Eileen (Mrs. Victor) Brodeur, and Margery (Mrs. Clarence) Burton, and his brothers, Richard and John.

He is survived by two sons, Adam of Indian, Alaska, and Jason of Auburn, Maine, his three grandsons, Birch, Attigan, and Rain, his sister-in-law Donna and her daughter Kristina, and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, on June 10. Visiting hours will be on June 9 at Forastiere Funeral Home in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts.

Bob—and Anne—always championed the rights of society’s marginalized.

In his final days, Bob joked that in lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to Planned Parenthood, in the name of Samuel Alito (https://www.weareplannedparenthood.org). Also, FINCA (The Foundation for International Community Assistance) an organization which makes small business loans to women in underdeveloped countries, (https://finca.org/); Doctors Without Borders (https://donate.doctorswithoutborders.org/secure/donate); or The Preble Street Shelter (https://www.preblestreet.org/donate/), for use in helping homeless teens and adults in Maine are groups that he valued and supported.
