Renee Erica Brooks

Renee Erica Brooks, 40 from Lewiston, sadly left us on December 18, 2023. She was born and raised in Lewiston on July 10, 1983. The daughter of Lorraine Heikkinen and John Marcous. She was a 2001 graduate of St Dominic Academy.

During her younger years she was a child of laughter, and always had red, rosy cheeks with a nickname of “apple cheeks”. She was an energetic, active child, with a love for music and dance, often putting on performances at family/friend gatherings. She also enjoyed playing soccer and basketball, and had a competitive edge in her. Her love for the outdoors with nature became stronger as she grew, and often would go out on camping trips, trail-riding, hunting, and taking walks near the ocean with her friends and family.

She worked many years in the service industry and always enjoyed interacting with people. She had a kind heart, and always wanted to help others.

She became a mother to two adorable boys, Jacobey and Austin, whom she will cherish in her heart, always and forever. She enjoyed watching them grow, and starting to play sports, cheering them along the way. She also enjoyed having animals to care for.

She will be remembered as a kindhearted, loving soul, always wanting the best for others before herself. Fly high and sore big!

She is survived by her children, Jacobey and Austin Brooks of Buckfield, her mother Lorraine Heikkinen of Lewiston, her other mother Marie Leblanc, her father, John Marcous of Turner, her sister, Nicole Desjardins (Keith) of Lewiston, niece and nephew, Avaya and Landon Desjardins of Lewiston, former husband Derek Brooks of Buckfield and companion Richie Demers of Georgetown as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends, whom she loved and treated as family.

She was predeceased by her stepfather, David Heikkinen, maternal grandparents, Edward, and Gertrude Perreault.

The family invites you to a time of visitation on Thursday, December 21, from 4-7 p.m., and Friday, December 22, from 1-3 p.m., at the Fortin Group Funeral Home, 217 Turner St., AUBURN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 23, at 11 a.m., at Holy Family Church on 607 Sabattus Street in Lewiston. Committal will take place on Tuesday December 26, at St Peters Cemetery at 11 a.m.
