Raymond L. Lavoie, 73, of Turner passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side Sunday May 29th. He was born May 27th, 1938 in Auburn. A son of Leonard and Rejane (Roy) Lavoie. Raymond (Ray) married the love of his life, Rebecca (Becky) Morris, on December 13th, 1958. They lived in Turner most of their married life. He worked for Lewiston Supply, H. E. Callahan, and was co-owner of L and P Variety for 16 years. The most enjoyable line of work was his part time employment with the Androscoggin Sheriffs Department of 32 years and he was he was a part-time reserve for the Livermore Falls Police Dept. He had his pilot's license and enjoyed flying his privately owned Cessna. He served many years on the planning board of the town of Turner. He and Becky enjoyed going to the Casinos and playing the slots as well as traveling. He attended the East Auburn Baptist Church. He is survived by the family that he so dearly loved to be with, his wife of 53 years, his mother of Auburn, his son, Kenneth and wife, Nicole of South Paris, his daughter, Joline Beardsley and husband Alan of Livermore, his son Michael, and wife, Tracy of Poland Spring. His grandchildren, Jason and wife Christina, Jonathan and fiancee, Kimberly, Christian and Hayley Jo, Matthew Lalemand and companion, Katie, Alexis Beardsley, Ryan and Riley. His great -granddaughters, Julia and Lily (due in August). His brothers and sisters, Richard and wife, Priscilla of Lewiston, Paul and wife, Sue of Tennessee, Linda Bussiere and husband Paul of Greene, Elaine Rowell of North Carolina, Charles of Virginia, Claude and companion Donna of California, Leonard Jr. and wife Ruth-Ann of Poland, Cathy McCleary of North Carolina, Anne Lavoie of West Gardiner and her boyfriend, Jim and many extended family members. He is predeceased by his father, his brother Maurice, and his grandson, Nathan Laleman. The family wishes to give a heartfelt thanks to C.M.M.C., Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice especially Michelle Hammond and Dr. John Yindra for the wonderful care and compassion given to our family.
