Auburn - Patrick J. King, 73 of Poland, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice surrounded by his loving family and close friends. He was born in Lewiston, July 6, 1938, son of the late Edward and Grace Hartford King. He was educated in local schools and served his country in the U.S. Army during peacetime. He was married to the love of his life, Pauline H. St. Amand, for 44 years. Prior to his retirement Pat was employed as a machinist at Lewiston Shoe Machinery. Pat was the happiest surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and summer trips to the White Mountains with his family. On Saturdays you could find him out and about with his wife at lawn sales. He always had a scratch ticket in his hand waiting for the "big payout". He will be remembered as a loyal family man who believed in hard work and always paying in cash. He is survived by his wife Pauline of Poland; two daughters, Monique Collins and husband Robert and Cheryl Blanchette and husband Paul all of Poland; three sons, Jason and wife Nicole of Poland, Tim and wife Melissa of Florida and Steven and wife Brenday of Poland; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; three sisters, Marianna Spugnardi and husband Albert of Lewiston, Betty Vachon and husband Don of Lewiston and Judy Bean of Auburn; two brothers, Johnny and fiancee June Brown of Lewiston and Michael and wife Jackie of Greene. He was predeceased by his parents, 6 brothers and 3 sisters and 1 great-grandson. The family would like to thank Dr. Yelena Patsionik, the staff at St. Mary's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, and the staff at the Hospice House in Auburn for their compassion and dedicated care of Patrick in his battle against Leukemia.
