Mariette C. Ouellette

Gray - Mariette C. Ouellette, 86, of Gray, Maine passed away peacefully at home on Monday April 21, 2014, with her family by her side. She was born January 28, 1928, the daughter of the late Edward and Clara (Caron) Dallaire. She lived in the Lewiston-Auburn area her whole life, graduating from St. Dominic High School. On September 4, 1948, she married the love of her life, Roger H. Ouellette at St. Peter's Church in Lewiston. Roger passed away in October of 2005. She was a loving homemaker to her husband and four children. Most recently she was a member of St. Gregory's Church in Gray. In her earlier years she was a member of Holy Cross Parrish and "Les Dames de St. Anne". She was a gifted artist who loved painting in oils and she also enjoyed doing needlepoint. She was recognized by her family and friends as a gourmet cook. She loved to entertain and took pride in being a wonderful hostess who always dressed impeccably. She never spoke badly of anyone, and most of all, she loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother and spending time with all her loved ones. Mariette is survived by 2 children: Marc Ouellette of Gray, Sonia Turgeon and husband Mark of Gray, 5 grandchildren: David Belisle, Katie Belisle, Michelle Ouellette Battaglia, Christine Mutchler and Adrien Ouellette, 4 Great-grandchildren: Taylor Battaglia, Gabriel Battaglia, Lauren Mutchler and Aiclyn Ouellette, sister-in-law Pauline Turgeon, son-in-law John Belisle and many friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Roger Ouellette, a daughter, Diane Pauline Belisle, a son, Claude Marcel Ouellette, a grandson, Anthony Belisle and her brother, Reverend Henry Dallaire. The family would like to thank the Androscoggin Home Health Care and Hospice for the loving care they gave Mariette over the past several decades, especially Nancy Palmore and her colleagues. Visitation will be held at The Fortin Group/Plummer Merrill Funeral Home in Auburn, on Friday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at Holy Cross Church in Lewiston at 11:00 AM followed by committal services at St. Peter's Cemetery in Lewiston.
