Freeport – Leo R. Blouin, 76, of Turner passed away on January 29th, 2024, with his wife Terry holding his hand. He was born in Lewiston, ME on June 28th, 1947, the son of Roland and Rita (Perreault) Blouin. Leo attended local Catholic schools, graduating from St. Dominic’s before obtaining his associate degree after retirement.
Leo married the love of his life and wife of 45 years, Terry Buzzell, and together they began to raise their family. They renewed their vows on January 25th, 2024. Leo worked many years at Geiger Brothers in Lewiston as a gilder before his retirement.
Leo lived a full life and completed his bucket list. He and Terry traveled the country, visiting all 50 states during their marriage. He loved to travel, spending time with his family taking many vacations. His favorite place that he visited was Italy.
He enjoyed watching hockey, baseball and football. Leo enjoyed not only watching sports, but also played pool and softball. He loved eating out with his family, especially at Pat’s Pizza in Auburn. He enjoyed muscle cars and was known to buy every new sports car that came out when he was young.
Leo will always be known as a hardworking, loving man that provided for his family, sometimes working 3 jobs. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Leo never missed a sporting event of his grandkids, attending hockey games throughout New England to watch them play. He cherished those moments so much that he never missed even a 5am practice.
Leo is survived by his wife Terry of 45 years; his daughters Robin Simoneau and Hope Bourassa; grandchildren Spencer Simoneau and his wife Kristin, Parker Simoneau and Harrison Bourassa; a sister Louise and her husband Fernando Mendoza; 3 great grandchildren: SJ, Sophia, and Lucien; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. He is also survived by daughters Lisa and Linda, and a sister, Pauline. He was predeceased by his parents and 3 brothers.
The family invites you to a time of visitation at The Fortin Group’s newly acquired funeral home at 305 Alfred Plourde Pkwy, Lewiston on Friday February 2nd from 4:00 to 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church, Lisbon St, Lewiston on Saturday February 3rd at 11:00am. Committal services will be private at a later date.

No flowers, please. In lieu of flowers, the family highly encourages that you make donations to your local youth hockey organization in Leo’s name. These were his grandsons’ teams.
It was also an important request of Leo’s that all people attending his visiting hours wear jeans.
