Esther S. Mair

A long time resident of Auburn, she was born in Turner, November 6, 1918 the daughter of the late Earl and Mildred Warren Staples. After graduating from Leavitt High School in Turner, Esther attended Gorham Normal School which later became part of the University of Southern Maine. She taught in the Auburn school system for 30 years. She was married to James A. Mair who predeceased her in 2000.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth A. Mair and his wife Joy of Williamsburg, Virginia and Rev. James A. Mair, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida; a grandson, Todd A. Mair and his wife Julie of Cordova, Alaska; a sister, Lois Grant of Westover, Mass.; a brother-in-law, James Blanchard of Supply, NC and several nieces and nephews. A special mention of Donna Householder and children, Kachera, Austin and Kloena of Middleburg, Florida and other loving family members and friends. Esther will be missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service Saturday at 1:00 PM at Court Street Baptist Church in Auburn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Court Street Baptist Church, 129 Court St. Auburn, ME 04210.
