He was born June 23, 1943, in Saint-Basile, New Brunswick, Canada, to Albert and Eugénie Lajoie Martin. The youngest in a large family, he was nicknamed Bébé his entire life (which he loved). Over the years, he answered to many names: Albert, Al, Bébé, Dad, Pépère, Mon Oncle.
He attended École Régionale Saint-Basile and trade school in Bathurst, New Brunswick. As a young man, he moved to Maine. In 1969 he married Madeleine Pelletier, and together they raised two daughters. In 1981 Madeleine passed away. Albert married Ginette Theriault in 1989. He spent most of his career as an electrician at DeBlois Electric and White Rock Distilleries in Lewiston, retiring in 2006.
He loved spending time with friends and family, and he made many trips home to New Brunswick each year. He enjoyed camping, classic country music, tinkering in his garage, eating lobster, watching old television shows, and sitting with his cat, Neco. His greatest joy was watching his grandchildren participate in theater, dance, sports, fundraising events, and other activities. He was very proud of them and was thrilled to see them grow up.
He was predeceased by his first wife; his parents; sisters Irena (Aurele) Cyr, Carmen (John) Gervais, Estelle Martin; brothers Gérald (Géraldine) Lee, Fred (Armance) Lee, Réginald Martin, Roger Martin.

He was godfather to Lisa Martin, Amanda Pelletier, and Dominic Parent. He was especially close with them and many other nieces and nephews. He spent the last few years living next door to his cherished brother- and sister-in-law, Marc and Raymonde Rioux.
Albert was beloved by all who knew him. He was easygoing and welcoming to all. He frequently helped loved ones with electrical work and other home improvement projects; they never even had to ask. For many years, he was active in the Knights of Columbus. He had a generous heart, wonderful laugh, and sense of humor. He will be remembered as a fun-loving, caring soul who loved to help others.
