

FALMOUTH - Adelaide " Addie" M. Castonguay, 89, went home to be with her Lord on December 23, 2013, after a short illness. She was born on November 18, 1924 in Van Buren, Maine to Thomas and Gertrude Ouellette as one of 17 children. Addie spent much of her life supporting the elderly. She worked for the Auburn public school system as well as Bolster Heights Nursing Home. She brought love and laughter to everyone's life she touched. Addie loved her Lord and loved reading the Bible daily. Her family expresses their sincere and deep appreciation to the staff of Sedgewood Commons in Falmouth, Maine for their loving care of Addie during her extended care at the facility. Addie loved her family and built her life around them. She is survived by five children. James & Kathy Castonguay of Greenville (Grandson Jarod, wife Jen and Great-Grandson Kyle), Sandra & Norman Pinard of El Paso, Texas (Granddaughter Stacey Pinard), William & Brenda Castonguay of Raleigh, NC, Jeffrey & Belinda Castonguay of Tampa, Florida (Grandson Jeffrey Castonguay, Jr, and step Granddaughters Kendra and Kelsey Menard) and Darcy & John Lee of Saratoga Springs, NY (Granddaughter Breanne and Grandson Ryan). She also leaves behind four sisters; Diane Ouellette, Constance Currie, and Gertrude Matthews from Auburn, and Theresa Brooks from Lisbon. She is predeceased by her husband, Alphonse R. Visiting Hours will be held on Saturday May 10 at Fortin\Auburn from 9-10:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Auburn at 11am. Committal prayers will be held at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston after the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter, 383 US Route One, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME, 04074.
