Ronnie G. McCoury

Ronnie Guy McCoury, ‘Big Ron’, age 70, of Auburn Hills Michigan passed away Thursday, October 8th, 2020. Ronnie was born on November 16, 1949 in Spruce Pines, North Carolina. He graduated from Avondale High School, class of 1969. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam during the war. After completing his service, Ronnie returned to work at General Motors Truck & Bus Plant. He married Sharon Chappell on June 10, 1998 in Rochester, Michigan. Ronnie retired from GM after 40 years of service. Ronnie was a past member of the American Legion in Auburn Hills. He loved sports, especially Michigan football. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife Sharon; children Mike (Tashia) Potter and Stephanie (James) Potter; grandchildren Kachina, Cherish, Mack, and Vega; and brother Jerry (Pam) McCoury. He was predeceased by his parents. Ronnie’s family will welcome all to a visitation on Friday October 16, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 3530 Auburn Road in Auburn Hills. Burial will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
