Bob was born on November 12, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan. While his loving mother, Fran, was working on behalf of the WWII war effort and his father was serving in the military overseas, Bob’s grandparents played a vital role in his upbringing. Bob often credited his grandparents’ nurturing love as foundational in shaping his life values.
Bob graduated from Wayne State University and the Detroit College of Law. He quickly ascended to an executive position in the mortgage banking industry before establishing his own law practice, Robert A. Tremain & Associates, PC. His firm thrived and garnered numerous industry accolades for excellence. Based in Birmingham, Michigan, Bob’s company employed over 50 individuals, many of whom dedicated decades of service alongside him.
Family was the cornerstone of Bob's life. Of his many accomplishments, his family was the most important. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Anne Welsh Tremain; his grateful children, Holly Kennedy, Jennifer Boesl (Kelly), Chantelle Boulle (Anthony), and Brett Tremain; his cherished grandchildren, Lucas Boesl, Landon Boesl, Christian Kennedy, Azure Boulle, and Robert (“Beau”) Allan Tremain III, who bears his grandfather's name; and many other dear family members that meant the world to Bob. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Robert (“Bobby”) Allan Tremain, Jr.
A man of exceptional character, Bob upheld the values of honesty, generosity, and integrity, living by the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." He was exceptionally hard working, kind, supportive, meticulous, intellectually curious, and confident. He delighted in watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports, listening to music, sharing laughter with his beautiful wife, Anne, reading and recommending books, and playing rounds of golf at courses around the world. Bob was a true gentleman.
Bob Tremain is deeply loved by his family and friends and will be profoundly missed.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM EST at Kirk in the Hills, located at 1340 West Long Lake Road, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, with Rev. Edwin Estevez officiating.
