Roy was born the son of John and Bertha (Carr) Barlow on November 11, 1944, in Hazel Park, Michigan. Roy graduated from Hazel Park High School, class of 1964. Roy married Henrietta “Linda” Snowden on May 29, 1965, at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Hazel Park. Roy had a career first as an auto mechanic for 25 years at Sears, where he never missed a day of work. Roy loved his family. He especially loved coaching Jamie’s basketball and taking his family camping at Ludington State Park. He enjoyed fishing, classic cars and, in his earlier years, sports of all kinds. He remained a loyal supporter of the Hazel Park community by serving on the Education Foundation for several years and the planning committee for Wanda Elementary School reunions. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren immensely.
