He was born on November 22, 1944, in Laurium, Michigan, and was the beloved husband of Sharron Kastelic, whom he married on February 26, 1966.
James, as he was affectionately known, graduated from Oxford High School and went on to build a fulfilling life centered around his family and his passion for golf. He was a dedicated father to Scott (Melba) Kastelic and Anne (Russell) Willey, and a cherished grandfather to Aaron Willey, Marissa Kastelic, and Thomas Kastelic. He was also a loving brother to Delores (Dennis) Ludwig, Maryann (Sunny) Grove, Roberta Benedict, David (Michelene) Kastelic, and Gordon Kastelic.
Throughout his life, James cultivated lasting friendships and touched the lives of many with his warm personality and unwavering kindness. His love for golf was matched only by his love for his family, who will forever cherish his memory and the legacy of love and laughter he leaves behind.
A funeral service for James will be held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, located at 1892 E Auburn Rd, in Rochester Hills, Michigan, on Thursday July 18th, at 5:00 PM. James family will be accepting friends and those who wish to pay their respects, from 3:00 PM until the time of service.
