Edward Moran

Edward (Ed) Grover Moran, 82, of Lake Orion, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. He was born on April 6, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Edward Clifford and Virginia Irene (Ruark) Moran.

Throughout his life, Ed was an avid traveler and a passionate coin collector. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with his grandchildren, whose growth and accomplishments were an enduring source of pride. Professionally, Ed enjoyed a successful career as a tool and die maker, culminating in over three decades of employment at Cross Hüller before his retirement in 2013. A man of faith, he was a long-time and active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he found community and purpose.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lynda; three sons, Robert (Patricia) Moran, Andrew (Marisa) Moran, and Matthew (Kimberly) Moran; nine grandchildren, Christopher Jones, Kelsey Moran, Jacob Moran, Lucille Moran, Samuel Moran, Lily Moran, Benjamin Moran, Heidi Moran, and Scotland Moran; and many sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his son Edward Moran and his daughter Susan Jones.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 3pm until 7pm at Pixley Funeral Home in Auburn Hills. Funeral service will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion on Saturday, July 20, 2024, with instate beginning at 11am and mass at 11:30am. Luncheon will follow mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion.

Edward will be laid to rest in Guardian Angel Cemetery, 4701 N Rochester Rd, Oakland Township, MI 48306.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ed's honor can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
