DAVID LAWRENCE SMITH, Age 71, passed away Sat. Sept 6TH, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Loriene Gilliam Smith. He was born March 29th, 1943 in Burnside, Kentucky to parents Lawrence and Irene Smith who preceded him in death. Dave was an avid fisherman and hunter until his health started failing. He was a lover of flea markets and garage sales. He was always looking for a bargain. He had a bright outlook on life and always had a story to tell. He could make you laugh when you felt like crying. His fun times were getting together with family for cookouts or just sandwiches and pop. And he always took home a doggy bag for his poodle Chiquita but, we were sure they shared. David was retired from AKZO Nobel but, still had an amazing following of old friends and partners in crime. They would all gather in his garage talk about the good times. They are going to miss him tremendously. In 1966, he came to Pontiac, wet behind the ears, looking for work and met the love of his life, Loriene. They lived together thru the good and the better. She smiled and kept him in line while he stood tall in his 5ft. 1 in. statute for her. Together they had seven children. Daughters Debra (Richard) Brady Geraldine Cordova, Angie (Jerald) Browne and Judy (Alberto) Velez; preceded in death by son Robert Smith and daughters Mary Oaks and Virginia Lovell. They also had a total of 22 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Ralph (Diane) Smith, Billy (Tina) Smith and sisters Ruth Ann Spears and Judy (James) Fuller. Now he is happily united with his wife who has waited for him faithfully since 2006. We Love You Dad!!!
