Carolyn was born the daughter of Arthur and Erma (Witherstine) Falvey in Rockford, Illinois on December 13, 1924. Carolyn graduated from Rockford High School, and earned her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois. Carolyn worked in Chicago helping to develop the A bomb. She married Armand Ferrand on September 18th, 1948 in Holcomb, Illinois. Carolyn was the bookkeeper for Ferrand Nursery Farm and homemaker to her family.
Carolyn loved to entertain and host dinners at her home. She enjoyed sewing. Carolyn loved to play bridge and was good at the game.
Carolyn was predeceased by her husband Armand; She is survived by her children James (Denise) Ferrand and Nancy (late Robert) Hirsch; grandchildren Kelsey (Andrew) Robitaille, Dana Ferrand, Sarah (Kevin) Vanden Berge, and Anne (Grant) Boardman; and great-grandchildren Maren Robitaille, Elizabeth Vanden Berge, Theodore Vanden Berge, William Vanden Berge, Jack Boardman, and June Boardman.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 4th, 2023 at 11a.m. First Congregational Church located at 1315 N. Pine Street in Rochester, Michigan. Interment will be private at Roseland Park Cemetery.
