Rosella Jane (Summers) Parker passed away peacefully on July 4th at her home of 35 years in Auburn, CA. She was preceded in death by Robert, her husband of 55 years, parents Claude and Theresia Summers, her brother Claude Jr., son-in-law Armando Medina, and grandson Alex Medina. Rosella is survived by her son Lane, daughter Jackie Medina, daughter Mary and sons Jerry and Brian, sisters Deloris Summers and Betty Allison, grandchildren Crystal Medina, Drew and Casey Parker, and great-grandson David Parker, as well as 14 nephews and nieces.
Rosella was born at home in Hobson, MO on November 12, 1930. She grew up on the family farm, and graduated from Rolla High School, MO. She met and later married her husband, Robert, in Rolla on July 12, 1950. Shortly afterward, they moved to Burbank, CA and raised their family there before retiring to Auburn.
Rosella was known for her warm, friendly nature and a smile from her made the day better for everyone she encountered. She was always ready with a laugh, and kept her sense of humor, and a keen mind, through her final days. She never complained about the various challenging physical ailments that beset her, and those closest to her admired her courageous strength to overcome these setbacks. Her children feel blessed to have had such a shining example to guide their lives. She lived her faith daily and trusted God for her life on earth and in Heaven. She was the very best mother and the dearest person they ever knew. She will be greatly missed.
Memorial service will be held on August 16, 2019 at 11am at Chapel of the Hills in Auburn.
