Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ChapeloftheHills-Auburn.com for the Jonas family.
Ron was born July 1, 1950 to Edward and Esther Eileen Jonas in Baltimore, MD.
His sister Barbara followed 7 years later
Ron attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute where he further developed his love of engineering as well as music, playing trumpet in the marching band the Polly Follies, and graduated on June 18, 1968
Ron then attended Virginia Polytechnic University and graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering on June 8, 1974. He was a big part of theatre productions on campus and loved working with all the different sets and lighting effects.
Ron worked for the state of Virginia before entering into a contract with Hewlett-Packard, and spent many years (almost 50 total) with them in many different roles.
Ron eventually moved from the east coast to California with his job at HP and then met the love of his life, Christine Storm. They married on February 3, 1990. Shortly after, they adopted Katherine in 1993.
Ron eventually retired from HP and after a few months of boredom, went back to work, this time for IBM. He loved working with computers and was extremely talented and knowledgeable in his field.
Ron had many hobbies throughout his life, from photography to golf to tinkering with just about anything, but his two favorites by far were flying airplanes as a private pilot and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. His family loved to share in his adventures and his daughter Katii has picked up a handful of his hobbies as well.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Luckett, his beloved wife, Christine Jonas and his daughter Katherine Jonas, as well as his granddaughter Eloria Beyer and her father Andrew Beyer.
