Robert Charles Smith

Robert C. Smith, 92, passed away September 1, 2013 in Auburn, California. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Born July 1, 1921 in Kirklin Indiana, he graduated from Woodward High School with Eleanor Zerbes, a neighborhood friend, whom he married in 1943. He entered the service in 1942 and served proudly in World War II. Bob graduated from the University of Cincinnati and was a member of Delta Sigma Pi International Fraternity. He worked for Ferry Morse Seed Company (who relocated him to California in 1960), Jackson & Perkins Roses, and Kapel Klang Distributors. Bob enjoyed 30 years of retirement living in the Sierra Foothills, where he joined the Lions Club in Arnold, California and enjoyed square dancing, RVing and bowling with his many friends. Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor. He is survived by his two daughters, Joyce (Paul) and Janet (Tom), 3 grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter.
