It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Carl Ford, aged 93, who passed away on June 14th, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 25, 1931, in Sacramento, CA, to Robert and Doris (Nee Hancock) Ford. He was a life long resident of Auburn, Ca and graduated Placer High School in 1949. Robert served for two years in the Army from 1952-1954 receiving two medals - the army occupation medal (Germany) and National Defense Service medal. He married the love of his life, Rose Clark, in 1952 and were lovingly married for 65 years raising five children. Robert was an avid skier, volunteering for ski patrol at Homewood ski resort and patiently taught all five of his children to ski. He was a scoutmaster, a member of the Elks, and Knights of Columbus. He loved tennis and spending time at the family cabin in Lake Tahoe. But mainly he loved his family and was a devoted family man who adored spending time with them. Robert is survived by his three daughters, Eileen Field, Lisa Barnum, and Alice Ford, including 2 sisters, Elizabeth Smith and Susan Ford, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. He will be remembered for his incredibly kind heart, optimism and gentleness. He will be forever in our hearts. Funeral mass and reception will be held at St Joseph’s Church on Saturday, September 7th at 9:00AM.
