Robert Neil Cain passed away January 23, 2023 at the Alder Grove Care home on Shockley Drive. Robert Neil Cain was born October 21, 1926 in Gridley California. Robert was the son of E.V. Cain (Edger Virgil) and Marguerite Cain Jansen.
Robert attended Red Bluff High School before moving to Auburn in 1943 when his father became Superintendent of the Auburn Elementary Schools.
He graduated from Placer High School in 1944. Attended UC Berkeley before being drafted into the Army during World War II, serving in Korea. When discharged, Robert returned to the University of California Berkeley for another year and became a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
With an interest in pharmacy and the love for skiing. Robert moved to Salt Lake City and received his degree in pharmacy from the University of Utah in 1951. After graduating, he was employed in Truckee California as a pharmacist. In 1953 Robert moved back to Auburn when his father passed away. Robert became manager and pharmacist at Hall’s Pharmacy.
Robert married Elberta (Bertie) Trueblood in 1954. Together Robert and Bertie had two sons, William of Guatemala and James of Auburn, and one granddaughter, Emma Cain.
Robert was a pharmacist for forty years. He was a store owner in Fairfield California, and also a manager of Raley’s Pharmacy in Auburn.
Robert is a member of the Masonic Lodge #16 in Oakland and the Eureka Lodge #16 and a Ben Ali Shriner. He is also a member of the Elks Lodge in Auburn.
