Norman was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Yvonne and his brothers Herold and
Gordon.
Norman is lovingly remembered by his children, Dale and Lynnea, grandchildren, Michael, Kyle,
Angela, great grandchild Ayrton and his brothers Edwin and Wallace.
Norman was born to Alfred and Essie Carlson, on May 5, 1933 in Bengough, Saskatchewan,
Canada.
He attended Queen Elizabeth High School and then went on to work with the Canadian Pacific
Railroad Ferries in British Columbia, Canada.
At that same time, he began taking an electronics correspondence course that would lead him
to attend their school in Los Angeles, CA.
It was during this time that his roommate would invite him to attend a church service at “Church
of the Open Door” with Pastor Vernon McGee. He accepted Jesus and became a faithful
follower of Christ.
In 1954, Norman began dating Yvonne who would soon become his bride and were married on
May 4, 1957 in Vancouver, Canada.
Norman later accepted a job in 1959 with Ampex Corporation and they left Canada to begin
their new life in Redwood City, CA. They would later relocate to Sunnyvale, CA and Norman
continued to work with Ampex Corporation as an Electronic Engineer for 32 years.
In 1994, they retired to beautiful Auburn, CA where they built their dream home and lived out
their golden years.
Visitation will be held on June 15, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Chapel of the Hills,
located at 1331 Lincoln Way, Auburn CA 95603
The graveside service will be held at New Auburn Cemetery, 1040 Collins Drive, Auburn, CA on
June 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Greg Hummel officiating from Auburn Grace Community
Church.
