Michael “Mike” Weddle passed away on Friday, April 8th, 2022, in a tragic motorcycle accident on his way to work. Mike was born on April 18th, 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the loving son of the late Jim Weddle. He is survived by his mother Vera, wife Kimberly, children Michael (fiancé, Sarah Jane), Sarah and Christopher, brothers Jim and John (wife, Merry), stepchildren Jacob (wife, Jessica) and Amanda, multiple nieces and nephews and several very close friends that he considered family.
Mike completed his Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Technology, emphasis on Transportation Management at The California State University, Chico. He maintained a very successful scholastic wrestling career from middle school through college.
He worked for Chris Alston’s Chassis Works for close to 32 years as Lead Sales and Tech support. He was so good at his job and loved his work so much that it felt more like a hobby versus a job.
He was a loving and devoted father of three beautiful children. In 2015 Mike met Kim for their first date; this was just the beginning of a very rare and beautiful love story. In 2019 they became husband and wife.
Mike had several hobbies he enjoyed. One of which was spending time with his father Jim, aka Zip, working on their 1962 Dodge Dart drag car. On race days you would find the two of them with their family and friends at the Sacramento Raceway. As Mike and Kim's life together evolved, he found another pleasure enjoying sun filled days with his family and friends at the local lakes on their boat. He would get the biggest childlike smile and laughter as he joined the kids getting dragged around on the tube behind the boat. As often as possible he would sneak away with his wife for a day or weekend horseback ride to enjoy some incredible scenery. Mike had a special bond with all animals especially his cat, 2 dogs and 2 horses that loved him as much as he loved them. He got the most joy and pride out of working around their little ranch, building a life that he could share with his whole family. Lastly, we all know Mike loved good food and cooking. He took every chance or excuse to host family dinners with all of his wonderful kids or brave friends, to subject them to some new recipe, sauce or seasoning that he would create.
We will always carry these beautiful memories in our hearts. Until we meet again, we Love you and miss you so much.
Celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 21st, 2022 at 1:00pm at Mt. Vernon Grange Hall 3185 Bell Rd, Auburn, CA.
