Mary M Johnson

Mary was born May 16, 1928 in Los Angeles, California to Victor Beaumont and Elizabeth Backus McClelland.

She graduated from Placer Junior College in Auburn in 1945 with an associate’s degree.

She married Carl Gottfried Johnson May 1, 1954 and lived in Auburn for the past 73 years. Mary worked for PG&E as a bookkeeper and the California Department of Forestry with Carl as a lookout on Wolf Mountain.

Mary and Carl enjoyed traveling around California, the United States and cruising to Alaska, Hawaii, New Guinea and the Virgin Islands to name a few throughout their 43 years of marriage.

Her parents Victor and Elizabeth, her husband Carl and her brothers Victor and John McClelland preceded Mary in death. She is survived by nieces Jean Dorris, Johnnie Marie Urban, Victoria Meyer and Diane McClelland, nephews David McClelland and Brad McClelland, and many loving friends.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 10:00a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church 1279 High Street, Auburn CA followed by graveside service at New Auburn Cemetery.
