Lucille was born in Claflin, Kansas on Leap Day, February 29, 1924 to Lee Corden Jacobson and Bessie May Ware. She passed away twenty two birthdays plus two years later on June 19, 2014. She and her brothers, Bob, Lee and sister Betty came to California during the Historic Grapes of Wrath Migration of the 1930’s. The family lived in a tent house while her father and uncles worked on Boulder Dam. The family settled in Penryn and worked in the fruit industry. Her youngest brother Don was born in California. Lucille graduated from Placer High School in 1942. Lucille worked at Mcclellan Air Force Base during the war years. She married John Allen Jenkins in 1945 and her son Paul Allen Jenkins was born in 1946. Lucille was a very kind and loving mother, wife, homemaker, and friend to all. She never missed an occasion to give a gift to someone. In her 70’s she traveled to Canada, rode the famed Rocky Mountain Railroad train, Also traveled to the monuments of New Mexico. She loved to bowl and did so in her 80’s. She is survived by her son Paul, sister in law Thelma Jacobson, her nephews Corden, Donna and Debbie Jacobson, Rick Jacobson, Robert, Dave and Bill Veerkamp, her Grandsons; Thomas J and John Lefevre, Great Grandchildren; Dennis, Midori Keegan and Maryssa Lefevre and she will be missed by all who knew her. Services will be held at Newcastle Cemetery at 10:00am on Monday, June 30th.
