Born: July 8, 1941
Passed: April 7, 2011
Lee passed away after a short but courageous five month battle with cancer. He loved life and embraced it with laughter and humor. He will be dearly missed by his close family and numerous friends.
Lee was born in Oakland, CA on July 8, 1941 and raised in Richmond. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps after graduation from El Cerrito High School. After his military service, he obtained his bachelors degree from CSU Hayward and his Masters from Chapman. Lee's career was with the Placer County Probation Office for 27-years until his retirement in 1998. He chose Auburn because of the wonderful community and because it was a beautiful and safe place to raise his family, and Auburn is where he built many life-long friendships.
Lee’s passion in life was family. He was a dedicated father, husband, big brother, and grandfather. Family gatherings meant the most to him and that legacy will be endeared. He spent as much time as possible with his family and never missed a chance to host or attend a family event. His big heart, contagious laugh, and his fun-loving personality will leave a huge hole in the family and will be sorely missed.
Lee loved to bowl. Many of his closest friends and fondest memories were made in his bowling leagues. In his free time, Lee also enjoyed traveling, dancing, and entertaining. He also loved to cook, a passion for Italian dishes, and his famous crab pizza recipe will be handed down for generations. He was a loyal friend, he was involved in his community, and he loved to travel and explore, especially his adventures in Hawaii.
Lee will be forever missed by his wife Lily, his sons Daniel and Michael, his grandchildren Meghan, Adeline, Dutch, Keagan, and Gillian, and by his siblings, George and Sharon.
