Joanne Whitmire Carpenter

Joanne Carpenter, 75 joined her brother Harold Whitmire and sister Francis "Whitmire" Quinn in Heaven March 2, 2016 in Citrus Heights, CA. She was born January 5th 1941, and was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister who will be missed.

Born in King City California she lived most of her life in Salinas, CA until she moved to Auburn, CA in 2008. Joanne loved spending time with her family camping, admiring nature, at family gatherings and loving on her grandchildren.

Joanne was an avid walker who loved the fresh air while enjoying nature. She met many people along her walks. When not outside she loved relaxing while staying on top of current events, and challenging herself with Sudoku and crossword puzzles.

Joanne is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Carpenter) Bohn and husband Paul Bohn; two sons Bill Carpenter Jr., and Robert Carpenter and wife Jennifer Carpenter and three grandchildren: Heidi Bohn, Ella Carpenter, and Ava Carpenter. She is also survived by her brother Bill Whitmire, sister Christine Whitmire, and brother Denny Whitmire.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at 10:00am, Friday March 11th 2016 at Chapel of the Hills, 1331 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA 95603. I lieu of flowers, a donation to Dementia Society of America at www.dementiasociety.org‎ in Joanne’s name is appreciated.
