She passed away peacefully May 16, 2017 surrounded by her husband and children. God took one wonderful wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her son, Rick, and parents.
She met Razz after she moved to California and together they raised four children in Auburn, a marriage that lasted over 46 years.
A homemaker by heart, she worked as a secretary at St. Joseph’s school while her children attended. She also worked at Sisters of Mercy and Ellen Nordstrom bookkeeping until her retirement.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and nana who always put her family ahead of herself. She supported her children and grandchildren at various events and sports, though she was not a sports fan. She was more than willing to help them out at a minutes notice.
Jan was very talented when it came to craft projects, including pine needle work, wood carving, and candle making. When she discovered quilting, it became a passion. You could always find a quilt project on her table an on the floor. On their travels, she could always find a quilt store and purchase material for future quilts.
Upon her retirement, Jan and Razz traveled with their RV and visited numerous National Parks, which she really enjoyed. When not traveling, they spent part of their summer at a small RV resort in Oregon where Razz pursued her passion for fishing and made lifelong friends there.
She is survived by her husband, Razz, 3 remaining children, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. RaShelle DeMoss, husband Chuck (Tori and Joseph), MeLissa Everts, husband Garrett (Shannar, MarLanna, and Rhaya), and Robert Ortiz, wife Jessica (Ariez, Evie, Robbie, and Izzy). Ricks two daughters Ashley Winterringer, husband Luke (Wyatt and Rylie) and Heather Fuhrman (Talina, Paige, and Urijah).
Jan will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Memorial service to be held on Thursday, May 25th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lincoln, CA.
