Evelia Trejo, a beloved mother and grandmother (Tita), passed away peacefully after a brave battle with ALS on November 30, 2024, in Auburn, California. Born on June 17, 1947, in Compostela, Mexico, Evelia was the cherished daughter of Dolores and Ignacio Cambero and grew up with her four beautiful sisters.
Evelia's journey in life was marked by her dedication and hard work. Though she pursued an education in accounting, her true calling was found in her entrepreneurial journey. Evelia, alongside her husband Octavio Trejo Sr., owned and operated Trejo’s Restaurant in downtown Auburn. As the owner and chef, Evelia became the heart and soul of the establishment, and with her recipes, served delicious meals that turned customers into lifelong friends.
Family was the cornerstone of Evelia's life. She was a proud and loving mother to her three sons, Octavio, Pancho, and David (Heather) Trejo. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her two granddaughters, Sofia and Raquel Trejo, who brought immense happiness to her days.
Evelia will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and her ability to make everyone feel at home. Her life was a celebration of love, laughter, and the simple joys of sharing a meal with those she held dear. Evelia's memory will forever be cherished by her family.
