David Robert Flack

David Robert Flack, 56, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 27, 2015. He was a resident of Placer County for over twenty years. Dave was a talented landscape designer for many properties in and around the areas of Meadow Vista and Auburn. He was known for his sense of humor and love of everything outdoors.

Dave was born on October 3, 1958, in Glendale, CA to Robert Flack and Carol Tucker. He attended Glendale Presbyterian Church throughout his youth, with brother, Michael and sister, Nancy, played baseball and football in a local leagues, and later graduated from Glendale High School.

Dave started his first landscaping business soon after High School with a friend and studied agriculture at Glendale Community College. In 1980, Dave met Nancy Kelly through a mutual friend, they married in 1982. Dave and Nancy welcomed their first son, Justin, in 1984 and a daughter, Cassidy, in 1990. They relocated to Ventura, CA where Dave was employed with Western Landscapes for several years.

To be closer to family following the end of his marriage with Nancy, Dave moved to Truckee, CA in 1992, and started a new landscaping business he owned until his passing. While living in Truckee, Dave met Vicki Suteu Bingham, they married in 2005 and settled in the Meadow Vista area. Over the last year, Dave spent a lot of time in Texas to be closer to his nephew Josh and family.

A true outdoorsman, Dave camped and fished in local spots like the Truckee River, American River, Boca Lake, Halsey Forebay and Lake Tahoe. He cherished the weather and true seasons that northern California offered. Dave was strong willed with a great sense of humor and made many friends throughout his life. He loved all types of animals and always had at least one pet. Dave was an avid sports fan and could often be found watching Football, Baseball, Tennis, Golf, and Racing. He also played in adult soft-ball leagues with brother-in-law, Roy, for as long as his body would allow.

He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Michael Flack on March, 18, 2008; step-father, Robert David Keys on May 30, 2001; step-mother, Sheryl Flack on May 8, 1998; and his Australian Shepherd, Shepp on April 9, 2012.

Dave is survived by his wife, Vicki Suteu Bingham; son, Justin Flack and fiancé, Elizabeth Gugin; daughter and son-in-law, Cassidy and Nick Rios; father and step-mother, Robert and Irene Flack; mother and step-father, Carol and Ron Tucker; sister, Nancy Adams; brother-in-law, Roy Adams; step-sister, Christa Burke; step-son, Josh Bingham and wife Tamatha; nephew, Josh Flack, wife Jamie and Family; niece and nephew, Ashlynn and Johnny Adams; step-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Victoria Bingham. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Luke.

Dave will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by so many who knew and loved him dearly. A private, family service will be held in Dave’s honor. A public memorial for Dave will be held this summer at a location to be determined.
