Darlene T. Wyrick
Darlene (Dolly) Thelma Wyrick, 80, of Auburn, CA, was surrounded by family when she went home to Jesus on March 4, 2023, due to complications resulting from an intestinal perforation.
Darlene was born in Oakland, CA on December 6, 1942. She was the first child of Charles & Thelma Wyrick. By nine-year’s old She was a big sister to Steve, Karen and Dan. In 1956 the family moved to Meadow Vista in Placer County. There, while attending Pine Hills Jr. Academy in Auburn, She met Jim Pitman. In 1963 they married and had two children, Susan and Steven. Although they didn’t remain married, they remained friends throughout Darlene’s lifetime.
Darlene loved loving on others and doing things that would brighten their day. This often took the form of homemade pies; mint brownies; deviled eggs; grilled-cheese sandwiches; nutter butters; orange tic-tacs; a listening ear – because “everyone has a story”; an encouraging word; a smile; a well-timed bible verse; or a silent prayer when she saw a need. She had a special gift that just made others feel loved and cared for.
Darlene joins her parents, Charles and Thelma, in Heaven. She is survived by her former husband, Jim and their children, Susan (Delton) and Steve (Janese); her grandchildren Michael, Robby, Cory, Cody, Rayni, and Cara; four great-grandchildren, her brothers and sister.
She loved her family and friends deeply, and we take comfort knowing that Darlene is now at peace surrounded by His divine light.
No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a Celebration of Life is scheduled. The family requests that in lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your favorite charity or perform a random act of kindness to brighten someone’s day.
