Walking up the ramp, twisting that doorknob a few times until it gave way,  I’d hear the sound of your cart whizzing across the kitchen floor and in anticipation, I’d hold my breath and wait for it, “which of the two greetings would I hear?” And  when you smiled and call my name I’d let a breath out because my heart filled up again after a short couple of days away from you. Your  stories of the day were highlights to mine. You showed me how to keep things simple, life is complicated enough,  no need to muddle it up with what’s no good for you.  So you know your saying, “it is what it is” and “thank you Jesus” (which by the way I’d like to know if He upgraded His boat ;) anyway,  it’s a melody now, for me. So, Hi  Mom! I miss you! Monday was your big day and you might have told me or someone else, “We don’t need to do all that!” And  At day’s end after you and I whizz around the kitchen cleaning up, we’d sit across from each other at the table and say, “it turned out really nice today, don’t you think?” Tell Him for me mom, Thank you Jesus! See you tomorrow if I don’t see you before then.
