Alice (Elsie) Alves

Alice (Elsie) Marie Alves (Ramirez), age 82, passed away on July 13, 2024, in Auburn, CA surrounded by her beloved family. Born on May 13, 1942, in Bakersfield, CA, she grew into a life full of love and dedication to her family, serving as a cherished matriarch.

Alice's career spanned significant roles, including a managerial position at Ultratech and later at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, where she managed medical records. She was deeply committed to her work, bringing the same level of care and dedication that she bestowed upon her family.

She was a devout member of St. Victor's Catholic Church in San Jose, CA, and later SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Rocklin, CA, where she participated actively.

Alice's personality was marked by her kind and loving nature. She was known for making everyone feel wanted and was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

She is survived by her children, Sheri Alves (Curtis Foster), Richard Alves (Kim Ables) and Kristy Nelson (Jeff Nelson); Grandchildren: Ralph Ciarlanti (Jayne Ciarlanti), Christopher Perez, Nicholas Alves (Jill Peluso), Ashley Baker (Ben Baker), Joshua Bevan, Mark Bevan (Stephanie Grubbs), Jordan Nelson, Caitlin Allen (Cody Allen) and Hannah Nelson; and Great-grandchildren: Isabelle Alves, Brinley Baker, Colton Baker, Rayden Bevan, Brooklyn Grubbs, Logan Ciarlanti, Elsie Baker and Henry Alves. Siblings: Margaret Sumpter, Peter Ramirez (Rosemary Ramirez) and Dora Fore.

Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard "Dick" Alves, and her parents Rosie and Pedro Ramirez, as well as her siblings Ted Ramirez and Rosemarie Menard.
