He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Annie Davis; his sisters, Shelby and Sarah Ruth; and his brothers, Kenneth, Tommy, and Jack.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Sue Davis; a brother, Jerry Davis (Linda); his children, Rodney Davis (Darcy), Randy Davis (Jill), and Rhonda Mundy (Wes); and grandchildren, Hunter Davis, (Jessica), Brandon Davis (Lindsay), Hughston Davis (Locket), Jacob Davis (Brittany), Judd Mundy, Gracyn Seawright (Taylor); and his great grandchildren, Whit, Alice, Rand, Ruth and June.
Brother Bill was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was a dedicated pastor and hard worker with a passion for woodworking, restoring antique tractors, taking care of his yard, and listening to southern gospel music. He worked many years at Gulf State Steel and made many friends there. Brother Bill will be remembered for his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his servant’s heart, his sense of humor, his loyalty, and his determination.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Gum Springs Baptist Church in Ashville, Alabama on January 17, 2025 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm, followed by interment at Gum Springs Cemetery. Brother Bill’s service will be led by his children.
Pallbearers are Hunter Davis, Brandon Davis, Hughston Davis, Jacob Davis, Judd Mundy, Taylor Seawright, Shane Jones, and BJ Jones.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the sitters, Tina, Cindy, and Regina who helped care for Bill in the past months.
