Wilford Wilson

Wilford was preceded in death by his parents, Wakely & Grace Wilson; sister, Sybil Rankin; brothers, G.W. & Daniel Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Wilson; daughters, Cheryl Collins (Donnie), Sharon Wilson, Cassie Leatherwood; grandchildren, Joey Smith, Tabitha Austin (Will), Wesley Tucker; sister, Dorothy Storey; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog, Happy.

Wilford’s nickname was Smiley because he had a contagious smile and twinkling blue eyes that would light up a room. He was a Godly man, a family man and a man of integrity. He was fun loving, adventurous and a mischievous prankster. He was very loved and respected by his family, church family, and community.

A celebration of his life will be held at Gum Springs Baptist Church in Ashville with Rev. Chris Cornutt officiating Thursday, July 9, 2020. Visitation will be from 5:30 – 6:30 and service will begin at 6:30.

Please follow state guidelines for social distancing and physical contact. Masks are not required, but appreciated.
