Thomas graduated from Altoona High School. He retired from the State of Alabama Department of Corrections. Thomas loved the outdoors and anything to do with the water. He enjoyed camping, fishing, kayaking, and swimming. He had many traits and could fix anything. Thomas was also a kidney recipient and was always very thankful for that. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, Jack and Doris Nance; stepson, Tommy Cash; and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 22 years, Karen Nance; daughter, Tammie Nance; son, Tommy (Brandi) Nance; step daughters, Jennifer (Barry) Hill and Tracie (the late Tommy) Cash; 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandson; sisters, Phyllis (Jimmy) Garner, Karen (Fred) Rumbler; brother, David (Teri) Nance; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Cancer Research.
