A graveside service will be at 3:00pm Friday at Howelton Methodist Church Cemetery for Royce “Butch” Brown Jr., 63, of Rainbow City who died Monday, April 24, 2017. Rev. Mark Howington will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 12;30 pm -2:30pm at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
Butch lived in Etowah county all of his life. He went to school at Walnut Grove/West End and was a member of the Alabama Air National Guard and the Alabama National Guard before going to work at St. Clair Correctional Facility from which he retired after 26 years service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Chella; parents, Royce and Mae Brown and sister, Joyce Farley. Butch has many friends from both school and work. He was always ready to play a practical joke and laugh. He was also an enthusiastic Alabama football fan. Roll Tide, Butch! You were loved and will be missed.
Butch is survived by his son, Casey Brown; daughter in law, Kendra Brown; granddaughter, Kylie; brothers, Paul (Deborah) Brown, Tim Brown; sisters Linda (Gary) Howington and Anita Brown; stepson Wes (Jennifer) Williams and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
