A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel in the coming months.
He graduated from Valley Head High School (class of ’61) and decided to leave farm life behind to attend Auburn University. He spent most of his professional life working for the City of Gadsden, retiring as Director of the City Planning Department. Ronald was a member of St. James Catholic Church and in recent years, attended Whorton Bend United Methodist Church. He loved spending time hunting, gardening, traveling, and working on the Family Tree. But more than anything, he was the devoted husband to the love of his life, Rebecca, and a loving father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who know him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Marshall Carr; his mother, Bernice Maxwell Carr; older brother, Bruce Carr. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca Hales Carr; sister, Peggy Carr Outlaw; daughter, Jessica Zahorscak; grandsons, Adam Zahorscak and Nick Zahorscak; and grand daughter in law, Summer Blount.
